Got a bit of spare time or simply a bit overwhelmed and not sure what to start next? It happens to everyone, which is why we’ve put together a few 20 minutes tasks that are great for getting the ball rolling for bloggers and businesses.
Plan out your next week
I know what snore-fest! But this task can actually help you gain some clarity on what needs to be done. It will improve your productivity and help you stay on track.
Send out a collaboration idea to someone in your industry
Not only will this give you a fab opportunity to reach out to people in your niche (hopefully the start of a beautiful friendship) it will also grow your audience.
Be socially proactive
Plan and schedule your social media posts for the next few days. Trust me this will take a weight off your mind, knowing that you can solely focus on other tasks for a while.
Write a list of blog post ideas
Planning ahead with blog posts will save you the fear of “oh no I have put something up but I’ve no idea what to write about!” and your content will have more thought put into which means it will have more value to your readers.
Plan your next blog post
While we’re on the subject of blogging, you might as well outline your next post, breaking it down into sections to make it more manageable and easier to write when you come back to it.
Pitch a brand
Take 20 minutes drafting up a pitch email to a brand that you would like to work with including why you’d like to work with them and what your ideas are. If you don’t ask, you don’t get.
Create a unique graphic
We recommend Canva for this, as it’s easier to use and free! You can create designs for blogs, social media, presentations and infographics as well as much more.
List your goals
Sit down and really think about what you would like to achieve in the next month, write them down and add notes as to how you might make them happen. Research has shown that you become more likely to achieve a goal simply by writing it down.
Update an out of date blog post and republish it
Don’t let your blog/website become a content cemetery if a piece can be updated to make it relevant again then do it! Adding more up to date information can add value to your work and get you more traffic.
Follow 10 people in your niche on one of your social channels
Connecting with people in your industry has never been easier thanks to social media. Try searching using the hashtags you use most often to find out who else is using them too.
Tidy your workspace
Don’t look at me like that! It’s easier to think and focus when there isn’t clutter everywhere. So have a spring clean, trust me you’ll feel much better once it’s done.
20 minutes may not be a lot of time but that small amount of time can really benefit blogs and businesses!
