Business mistakes we made in our 2nd quarter

Those of you who have been following us for a while will know that we posted the business mistakes we made in our first three months back in January. Well, now we’re back with a brand new set of mistakes….because nobody’s perfect.

We put up with WordPress.com for too long

It was the first mistake we made. I set up the website on WordPress.com not knowing there was a difference between it and .org. So we just trudged along with it. It didn’t give us the freedom we wanted, we couldn’t use the plugins of our choosing and overall it simply limited us.

Solution

I snapped one day and moved us to WordPress.org! Now we have a range of plugins that make our lives easier and our website better. Yippee!

We tried to do too much

Obviously, everyone wants their business to succeed and most of the time there are a lot of steps to get there. We made the monumental mistake of trying to start everything at once, on top of our other side gigs and full-time jobs. We bought the equipment to start our YouTube channel and podcast but haven’t yet found the time to you know….actually start it.

Solution

Ummm, we don’t have one, to be honest. We’ve said we’re going to do, we want to do, so now we just have to find the time to do it. We’ll get there.

We started to slow down

I’m sure that it happens to everyone. We get the initial excitement because everything is new and shiny, but then it all starts to wear on us. We have so many other things going on and sometimes they have to precedence and then it’s hard to get back in the swing of things.

Solution

You’ll be glad to know that we are in fact “back in the swing of things” and we have some new plans and there’s going to be exciting changes to the website coming shortly. Also, keep your eyes peeled for our new free course launch!

There are lots of other little business mistakes we’ve made in the last few months but these are the big ones. Just remember mistakes are just lessons we haven’t learnt yet…..so cheesy but so true,  *eye roll*.
